EDIT: If anyone is wondering how long Edric has been A GW, this is Edric's grey warden life timeline:

Origins - 1 year
Awakening proper - 1 year
Then in his epilogue, it was said that about 5 years passed before The Grey Warden "mysteriously vanished"
Then he spent a couple of months turning Orlais upside down while searching for Morri.

So that's close to 8 years.
